The dome of Palomar Observatory, on Palomar Mountain, contains four telescopes, including the 200-inch Hale telescope which was the largest in the world when it was built in 1949. At either 11.30am or 1.30pm, take a weekend tour of the facility and see how it uncovers the dark secrets of space.
