Ever dreamed of controlling the levers of power? That's what railway signal operators once did: controlling trains, they had passengers' lives in their hands. From 2-5pm this Sunday explore their story amongst a century of railway paraphenalia at the largest surviving Midland Railway signal box (built 1892), next to St Albans City station, and with the help of volunteers, give the signalling a go on their (sadly, but perhaps understandably) disconnected levers.
